Bash Protection For The Legendary DR-Z400
This skid plate fits the Suzuki DR-Z400S (2010–2021), DR-Z400SM (2005–2021) and DR-Z400E (2005–2021).
It is made from aluminum and comes in silver or black.
Why it matters
The underside of the engine is exposed to rocks, ruts and curbs, and a hard hit can crack the crankcase, damage the oil filter or bend the exhaust headers. A skid plate spreads the impact and lets the bike slide over obstacles instead of catching on them.
The DR-Z400 is one of the most popular dual sports for trail riding, and its frame and engine cases are exposed underneath. A dedicated aluminum plate is one of the first upgrades most owners make before heading off-road.
Installation
Installation is straightforward with basic hand tools.
Position the plate under the engine, line it up with the frame mounting points and tighten the bolts evenly. Check that it does not touch the exhaust or the oil drain bolt access.
