Give Your R1 A Single-Seat Race Tail
This passenger seat cowl fits the Yamaha YZF-R1 from 2015 to 2024 and replaces the pillion pad with a hump cover that closes off the tail.
It is injection molded in ABS plastic and painted, with a choice of glossy black, matte black, white, blue, red, silver, yellow or a carbon look finish.
Why it is worth fitting
A solo cowl is the quickest way to make an R1 look like a track bike. The shape follows the tail lines, and the black top pad keeps the classic two-tone look. The cowl changes the silhouette of the bike more than most bolt-on parts, which makes it a popular first styling upgrade on a sport bike.
Because it simply takes the place of the pillion seat, the change is reversible: refit the original pad whenever you need to carry a passenger.
The seller notes that this is an aftermarket part and that the color may look slightly darker or lighter than in the photos.
Installation
The cowl mounts in place of the passenger seat. The product photos show it with a mounting bracket, so check that the bracket lines up before tightening.
The seller does not list installation instructions. Take your time, protect the paintwork with a cloth and keep the original parts in case you want to revert.
In the box: one seat cowl (1 piece) in the color you select.
